Military entrepreneurship summit in the National Capital Region
Event welcome and opening remarks by Deputy Director Derrick Brent
Born from a conversation with a friend about the stresses and anxiety of doing laundry and the negative impact such feelings can have on one’s overall well-being, Hyacinth Tucker started The Laundry Basket, a laundry and dry-cleaning service. Hyacinth says her military experience has been instrumental in running her business.
Come hear Hyacinth's story and the stories of other incredible veteran entrepreneurs during our military entrepreneurship summit event virtually or in person at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia on Monday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET.
If you’re a veteran, military spouse, service member, or part of the military community, join the USPTO in collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and to get connected to the resources and tools you need to help you succeed. From honing your business plan and protecting your brand and ideas, to market analysis and financing, we've got every angle of entrepreneurship covered.
The full agenda and speaker list are coming soon and will be available on the event page on the USPTO website.
This event is free and open to military spouses, veterans, service members, military family members, and Department of Defense civilians. For questions, including exhibitor opportunities, contact militaryoutreach@uspto.gov.
