Current status of USPTO systems
USPTO Contact Center unavailable for calls
The USPTO Contact Center is temporarily unavailable to take phone calls. This does not affect other contact centers providing support. Find additional USPTO support centers on our Contact us page.
USPTO customers should connect via email for urgent matters.

Upcoming planned events
Patent Center Database Maintenance
The USPTO will perform routine database maintenance affecting Patent Center from 12:01 a.m.-5 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 29.
Patent Center will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Credit Card Payment Maintenance
Due to third-party system maintenance activities, credit/debit card payments will not be accepted from 6-10 p.m ET on Saturday, March 29.
During the maintenance period, the following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept credit/debit card payments:
- Patent Center (PC)
- Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)
- Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)
- Trademark Center (TC)
- Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
- Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)
- Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Center (TTAB)
- Assignment Center (IPAS)
- Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)
- Certified Copy Center (CCC)
Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during the maintenance window.
If you are unable to wait until the maintenance activity has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).
PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System, (P-TACTS) you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: P-TACTS FAQs (uspto.gov) and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using P-TACTS alternative filing methods. If you have any questions, contact PTAB during normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., ET by telephone at 571-272-7822 or email at Trials@uspto.gov.
Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends. If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.
