Sequence Data Site Update

The USPTO will perform an update on sequencedata.uspto.gov beginning at 11:59 p.m., Friday, May 20 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, May 21 ET.

During the maintenance period, sequencedata.uspto.gov will be unavailable.

Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi) Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the TEAS and TEASi systems beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, May 21 and ending at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 21 ET. 

During the maintenance period, TEAS and TEASi will be unavailable. 

Users should file all saved forms and e-signature forms by 7:59 a.m., Saturday, May 21 ET.  If you don't file these forms by that time, you will have to start the process again with new forms. Read the release highlights on our TEAS and TEASi Maintenance and Enhancement page.

Fee Processing Next Generation (FPNG) Credit Card Payments Maintenance

Due to USPTO maintenance activities, credit/debit card payments will not be accepted between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., Saturday, May 21 ET.  

During the maintenance period, the following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept credit/debit card payments:

  • Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web)
  • Electronic Filing System-Web Contingency (EFS-Web Contingency)
  • Patent Center
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTABE2E)
  • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)
  • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
  • Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS)
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)
  • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during the maintenance window.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance activity has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Patent Customers: For more information about filing documents during an outage, please visit: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/apply/filing-online/filing-documents-during-outage. If you have questions, please contact the Patent Electronic Business Center (EBC) at 1-866-217-9197, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to midnight ET.

PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/ptab/ptab-e2e-frequently-asked-questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods. Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends.  If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.

During the maintenance period, the following systems will remain available, but mark images and documents will be unavailable:

    Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR)

Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private PAIR) and Public Patent Application Information Retrieval (Public PAIR)

The USPTO will perform maintenance on Private-PAIR and Public-PAIR beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, May 21 and ending at 5 a.m., Saturday, May 21 ET.

During the maintenance period, Private-PAIR and Public-PAIR will be unavailable.

Please use Patent Center as an alternative to electronically retrieve patent applications.

Trademark System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on Trademark systems beginning at 12 a.m., Tuesday, May 24 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24 ET.

The following systems will be impacted:

        Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG) will not be available. You can access recent PDF versions of the gazette on the Trademark Official Gazette webpage. For archived PDF versions of gazettes dating back to 2001, visit the archived editions page.

    Trademarks ID Manual (IDM) will not be available.
    •
    Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) initial application forms will not be available.
    •
    TTAB Reading Room will not be available.
    •
    Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) will be available, but all documents may not be viewable.

The following systems will remain available, but links to and images derived from TSDR will be unavailable, including mark images.

    Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)

Patent Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web beginning at 8 p.m., Sunday, May 22 and ending at 10 p.m., Sunday, May 22 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated.

Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time, but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.
