Planned Events

​Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will be performing routine maintenance beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, February 6 and ending at 9 a.m., Saturday, February 6 ET.

During the maintenance, there may be brief interruptions for some services. Users should retry if an operation is interrupted or does not appear to have been completed. 

The following systems will be impacted:

  • Electronic Freedom of Information Act (E-FOIA) 
  • Assignments on the Web (AOTW) 
  • Electronic Patent Assignment System (EPAS) 
  • Fee Processing Next Generation (FPNG) 
  • Order Entry Management System (OEMS)  
  • Certified Copy Center (CCC) 
  • Private PAIR 
  • Patent Center

In addition, there will be a complete outage for the following systems from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m.: 

  • MyUSPTO 
  • Electronic Filing System- Web (EFS-WEB) 
  • Patent Global Dossier Public Access Dossier (P-GD-PAD)


MyUSPTO Maintenance

The USPTO is performing MyUSPTO maintenance beginning at 12:01 a.m., Sunday, February 7 and ending at 5 a.m., Sunday, February 7 ET. 

The my.uspto.gov website will be unavailable during the maintenance period. 

You will not be able to register for a new uspto.gov account during the maintenance and you will not be able to sign in to Patent Center, the Patent Center Sponsorship tool, Private PAIR, EFS-Web, TEAS, and OEDIS CI. 

During the maintenance period, Patent applicants can file new applications via Patent Center as a guest filer, EFS-Web Contingency, or use an alternative filing method

For trademark (TEAS) customers, please wait to use TEAS until after the maintenance window. Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend to the next business day. If you have any questions, contact the TEAS team by email TEAS@uspto.gov.

The maintenance will also impact the ability for Financial Manager users to add new users or make changes to user permissions.​

Vendor Portal Maintenance

​​The USPTO will perform system maintenance affecting the Vendor Portal beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, February 6 and ending at 12 p.m., Saturday, February 6 ET.

During the maintenance period, Vendor Portal users will not be able to submit and process invoices and eDeliverables.

During this maintenance period, the following systems will be unavailable:

During the maintenance period, if you need to file a new patent application, you can use EFS-Web for Unregistered eFilers or EFS-Web Contingency. If you need to file a follow-on submission or pay fees, use an alternative filing or payment method. PTAB Customers:
If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending AIA case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End System (PTAB-E2E), you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ Page and see A2 for information concerning your AIA petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods. Trademark Customers:
If your deadline is today and the document requiring a fee payment cannot be filed electronically, you must use an alternate method of filling.
