Patent Center, Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web), and Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private-PAIR) Issues

The USPTO is currently experiencing technical difficulties which are causing overall system slowness and access issues for Patent Center, EFS-Web and Private-PAIR.

Please refer to our Filing Documents during an Outage page for an alternative filing method. 

TEAS and TEASi Issues 

The USPTO is currently experiencing technical difficulties with TEAS and TEASi, you may be unable to submit forms or pay fees. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. At this time, we don’t know when services will be fully restored but additional information will be posted as soon as it’s available.  

If your deadline is today and this technical issue is preventing you from filing your documents using TEAS or TEASi, you should fax your documents to the Petitions Office using the fax coversheet at 571-273-8950.

Fee Payment Processing Issues  

The USPTO is experiencing some intermittent network slowness/latency which is causing overall system slowness for fees.uspto.gov as of 9:15 am., Friday, December 16 ET.

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

 For PTAB Customers:

If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: https://www.uspto.gov/patents-application-process/patent-trial-and-appeal-board/ptab-e2e-frequently-asked-questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods.
