Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) Migration  

The USPTO will perform a migration on CPC from the Production Data Center in Alexandria to a new Data Center in Manassas, from 12:01 a.m. until 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4 ET.  

During the migration window, the CPC and the following systems will be impacted:

• CPC DB and Classification Allocation Tool (CAT) will be unavailable.
• The OC Issue Classification form will be impacted by this update as this form requires CPC validation services. You may continue with other OC functionalities.
• In Docket Application Viewer (DAV), CPC information will be unavailable.
• In PE2E-Search, Similarity Search will be unavailable.

Patents End-to-End Official Correspondence (PE2E-OC) Deployment

The USPTO will be deploying a new version of the IFW Backup Tool package according to the following schedule:

Patents Group 1– Beginning at 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, October 10 and ending at 5 a.m., Wednesday, October 11 LT.

Patents Group 2 – Beginning at 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, October 11  and ending at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, October 12 LT.

Patents Group 3 – Beginning at 11:59 p.m., Thursday, October 12 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Friday, August 13 LT.
