Link updated with deadline extension: USPTO takes first steps to open Southeastern Regional Office and new community outreach offices; seeks public feedback via request for comments
We recently published a Request for Comments (RFC) in the Federal Register (FR) that seeks public feedback regarding the establishment of an additional United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) regional office in the southeast region and four new community outreach offices as authorized by the Unleashing American Innovators Act of 2022 (UAIA).
Due to a publishing error, the link to the electronic comments form in the RFC has been inaccessible to the public. The RFC has been republished in the FR with an updated link to the electronic form for stakeholders wishing to submit comments. Additionally, we are extending the deadline for submission of comments from July 11 to July 17. For all comments to be considered, they must be submitted via the updated link in the FR prior to the closing of the comment period.
We recently developed a new webpage on our website specifically dedicated to the agency’s work under the UAIA which also features the correct link to the electronic form for comments.
