Learn how to make a smooth transition to Patent Center

Laptop with DOCX interface shown

In August, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) resumed its series of Patent Center-focused training sessions. The one-hour sessions are interactive and showcase how to file and manage applications in Patent Center. Register today for one of the upcoming trainings, scheduled for September 14, 19, and 28, and October 3, 19, and 24.

Patent Center is the next-generation system that incorporates all application submission types and file management functionality currently available in EFS-Web and Private PAIR. Additionally, Patent Center provides a more intuitive user interface for an enhanced experience by allowing you to:

  • Upload multiple files at once using the drag-and-drop feature
  • Upload the specification, claims, abstract, and drawings in a single DOCX document without the need to manually separate sections
  • Download multiple documents at once within a single PDF file or in a ZIP file
  • Receive separate submission and payment receipts, which clearly confirm the status of submitted documents and successful payments
  • Safely practice filing DOCX and PDF documents and receive real-time feedback in the training mode, a sandbox environment

There is no charge to attend Patent Center trainings, but pre-registration is required. Visit the Patent Center information page for valuable resources, including a user guide.
