Deadline for stakeholder comments on future strategies in anticounterfeiting and antipiracy is August 23
The deadline for submitting comments to the USPTO’s request for comments on effective strategies to combat anticounterfeiting and antipiracy is fast approaching. Comments must be submitted by midnight, August 28.
The USPTO seeks information from interested parties regarding their observations and insights into the future of anticounterfeiting and antipiracy strategies. In particular, the USPTO is looking for information from a wide variety of stakeholders—including consumers, intellectual property rights holders, online marketplaces and platforms, physical marketplaces, parties who provide goods to the public, consumers, and other private sector stakeholders—on the evolution of counterfeiting and piracy in recent years and ways to identify and develop future anticounterfeiting and antipiracy strategies. More information is available in a Federal Register Notice published May 25.
To promote further discussion among the public regarding the future of anticounterfeiting and antipiracy, the USPTO will also host a public roundtable in Alexandria, Virginia, on October 3. This in-person program will also be livestreamed. If you want to be a panelist, submit your request by September 1.
To learn more about the request for comments and the October 3 public roundtable, visit the USPTO website.
