This week: Patent Public Search webinars

Are you puzzled by patent searching or confused by the patent searching options available on the internet? Whether you are a novice or experienced searcher, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is here to help.

Register for Getting started with Patent Public Search: An overview, during which Tom Turner, a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) librarian with more than 17 years of experience in educating users on the USPTO search tools, will demonstrate how to use the new Patent Public Search tool. This virtual webinar will be held on Thursday, August 18, from 2-3 p.m. ET.

Ready for the next step? Register for Patent Public Search: Advanced tips for frequent searchers scheduled for Friday, August 19, from 2-3 p.m. ET. During this virtual webinar you will learn how to:

  • Tag patent documents based on criteria you set
  • Write notes on documents as you review them
  • View only those sections of a patent that have your search words
  • Use other features to make your search easier
