Revised exam guide on U.S.-licensed attorney requirement

Since issuing Exam Guide 4-19 on August 2, 2019, the USPTO has received requests for additional clarification regarding implementation of the final U.S.-licensed attorney rule. Accordingly, we have issued a revised exam guide, “Requirement of U.S.-Licensed Attorney for Foreign-domiciled Trademark Applicants and Registrants (September 2019).” Please direct questions about the guide to TMPolicy@uspto.gov.
