Wine & IP: Geographical indications, international policy and the intersection with trademarks

Are you interested in learning more about the relationships between wine, geography, and international policy? Join us for a webinar about the international foundations of geographical indications (GIs). USPTO’s Senior Attorney Advisor Nancy Omelko will give an overview of the international policy-making bodies and advocacy groups that focus on GIs and the hot topic issues being discussed today. Then, Attorney Advisor Jennifer Chicoski will outline the process for applying for protection of trademarks, collective marks, and GIs at the USPTO.

This event is part of the USPTO Eastern Regional Outreach Office’s “Wine & IP” series. The USPTO has received approval for CLE credit in Virginia for this event, and participants will receive a certificate of attendance and presentation materials which may be used to apply for CLE credit in other states.
