How to apply to open positions on USAJOBS

You can only apply to the extern program, the USPTO internship Program, and the Innovation Internship when a vacancy announcement is posted on the USPTO page of USAJOBS. When applying, you will typically need to submit the following documents:

  • Resume
  • Official college transcript(s)
  • Proof of current enrollment or letter of admissions

Make sure you review the vacancy announcement closely, as some additional documents may be required.

How to apply for an Urban Alliance position

Urban Alliance connects high school students to equitable, inclusive careers through paid work experiences, mentorship, and professional development. Urban Alliance works with schools and employers to address systemic barriers to economic mobility for young adults of color and to bridge the gaps between education and workforce development for all young people. 

How to apply for a FLIPS position 

Managed by the Partnership for Public Service, the Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program (FLIPS) helps bring diverse young talent to government and offers students the opportunity to apply their educational training to work at a federal agency. The program is actively recruiting for its summer 2024 paid interns. Undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from across the country are welcome to apply.
