July 25, 2024 – 4
P.M. ET UPDATE
Current Status
As of this morning, unless you are on leave or have an
excused absence, all employees impacted by the CrowdStrike IT outage should be
back online or have an appointment scheduled to resolve the issue.
If your computer is
still impacted, and you are not actively working through resolution, please
call the IT service desk at 571-272-9000 or email servicedesk@uspto.gov right away. Impacted employees who are returning from leave,
or an excused absence should also contact the IT service desk.
Phone lines
are open, and technicians are available to assist you with minimal wait times.
We have ended the ability to claim outage-related time. Employees still
impacted are authorized to claim up to 4 hours of outage-related time for July
25. If you are in a situation that requires special consideration, please
contact your BU head or deputy BU head. See the FAQs for more specific
information on timekeeping.
We have
plenty of IT personnel standing by to help any remaining impacted employees.
Starting Friday (7/26), please contact the Service Desk for all issues,
including any CrowdStrike-related issue.
For more
information on topics like timekeeping, working with an IT technician to
resolve your outage, or dealing with non-CrowdStrike-related IT issues, please
visit the USPTO CrowdStrike
outage FAQ page or contact your direct supervisor.
Thank you
for your patience and support.
