July 21, 2024 – 12:00 P.M. ET
As of 10 a.m. ET today, more than 5,800 computers remain
offline due to the faulty code (please see the updated graph below). We have
added more weekend technical support personnel and will have additional support
starting Monday.
Again, please do not leave additional voice messages if you
have already called and left a voicemail.
For employees local to the Alexandria, VA area (within a 50-mile
radius)
Starting
at 8 a.m. ET on Monday, July 22,
we will have in-person technical support available on the third floor of the
Jefferson Building* on the Alexandria campus, by appointment only.
To
reserve an appointment, please visit the USPTO Onsite Repair booking page using your
mobile device or personal computer.
In
addition to other details, you will need to provide the following:
- Your workstation ID (see green sticker on your device,
for most employees, the ID begins with the letters “EGU”) - Confirmation that you have rebooted your computer
before your appointment (we need to confirm that the blue Recovery screen
persists upon a reboot) - An email address you can access without your work
computer - Personal phone number where you can be reached if
needed
You do not need access to the USPTO network to book an
appointment.
Please only set up one appointment.
Additional appointments after Monday and Tuesday will open
once all appointments on those days are full, and as we add additional tech
support. Upon reserving an appointment time, you will receive confirmation via
the email address you provided. Again, please do not input your work email
address if you cannot access it at this time. Please bring your computer, PIV
badge and confirmation email with you to the appointment.
*Note:
This location is a change from what we communicated yesterday, July 20. We will
not have in-person support at the locations listed previously, only at
the Jefferson Building.
We will publish our next update today at 6 p.m. ET.
