PALM-PROD Maintenance
The OCIO will perform maintenance on the PALM-PROD database Data Guard environment beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, May 14 and ending at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 15 ET.
USPTO will integrate Oracle GDS (Global Data Services) with PALM-PROD for a subset of applications that access PALM-PROD data. Oracle GDS acts as a middle tier between an application and its database and allows PTO to more easily move to a Disaster Recovery stance.
During the maintenance period, the following applications, that have been configured to use Oracle GDS, will have a short outage during the smoke testing period:
- Integrated Quality System (IQS)
- Patent Application Location and Monitoring - File Ordering Subsystem (PALM-FOS)
- Patent Application Location and Monitoring - Examination and Post-Examination (PALM-EXPO)
- Patent Application Location and Monitoring - Patent Cooperation Treaty Operations (PALM-PCT-OPS)
- Patent Application Location and Monitoring (PALM)
- Patent Application Location and Monitoring - Pre-Examination System (Pre-Exam)
- Patent Application Location and Monitoring - Service Gateway (PALM-SG)
- Patent Center
- Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private-PAIR)
- One Patent Service Gateway (S-OPSG)
- Big Data Reservoir (BDR)
- Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
During the maintenance period, the following applications, that have not been configured to use Oracle GDS, will have no access to the PALM-PROD database for approximately seven hours during the deployment on Friday, May 14. Full access will be returned by 9 a.m., Saturday, May 15 ET.
