TEAS Filings Due January 21, EFS-Web & Private PAIR Authentication Issue and TESS Technical Problems

TEAS Filings Due on January 21

In view of the official closing of the USPTO on January 21, the deadlines for any trademark-related filings due on January 21, 2014, will be considered timely if filed today, Wednesday, January 22.

Because the TEAS forms cannot be reprogrammed to accept these delayed filings, customers will need to employ workaround procedures to file these submissions.

EFS-Web & Private PAIR Authentication Issue

USPTO has received feedback from Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) and Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) users that they have been experiencing authentication problems starting on January 15.

USPTO recommends EFS-Web and Private PAIR users upgrade to Java 7 Update 51. If users continue to experience authentication problems, please contact the Patents Electronic Business Center (PEBC) by telephone at 1-866-217-9197 or by email at ebc@uspto.gov. PEBC hours of operation Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to midnight.

TESS Technical Problems

The Free Form search screen is not currently supporting the “multiple search” function in the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS). The “multiple search” issue is being addressed by staff at the USPTO.
