Multiple System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting multiple systems multiple systems from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 ET.

The following systems will be unavailable during the maintenance period:

     EFS-Web for Registered eFilers, Unregistered eFilers, and EFS-Web Contingency

     Private PAIR

Patent Center will be available as an alternative to electronically file and retrieve patent applications. Please refer to our Filing Documents during an Outage page for other alternative filing method.

Services - Document Wrapper for Patents (S-DWP) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on S-DWP for two consecutive nights. The dates are as follows:

    • The first night of maintenance will be from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 ET.

    • The second night of maintenance will be from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 6 ET.

S-DWP will be available during the maintenance period; however, some operations may be briefly interrupted or delayed.

Patents-Electronic Library for Patent (P-ELP) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on P-ELP for two consecutive nights. The dates are as follows:

    • The beginning night of maintenance will begin at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, August 5 and end at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, August 5 ET.

    • The final night of maintenance will begin at 12:01 a.m., Sunday, August 6 and end at 5:30 a.m., Sunday, August 6 ET.

P-ELP will be available during the maintenance period; however, some operations may be briefly interrupted or delayed.

Patent Center users should retry if an operation is interrupted or does not appear to have been completed.

Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on (P-TACTS) systems for two consecutive nights.

    • The first night of maintenance will occur from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 ET.

    • The final night of maintenance will occur from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Saturday, August 6 ET.

P-TACTS will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Users should save all work and log off before the maintenance period begins.

Parties must either pay fees for petitions outside of this scheduled maintenance time or pay early. Those with deadlines for petition filing or other associated documents to a pending AIA case, must use an alternate filing method.

Trademark (TM) E-File Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 ET.

To minimize the risk of disruption, we recommend closing any active sessions and stopping your work between 9 and 9:15 a.m. ET.

Multiple System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Patent Global Dossier Public Access Dossier (P-GD-PAD) and One Portal Dossier (OPD) system beginning at 12:01 a.m., Sunday, August 6 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Sunday, August 6 ET.

During the maintenance period, the application may be unavailable.

Assignments on the Web (AOTW), Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR), and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE (TTABVUE) Maintenance

The USPTO Certified Copy and Assignments (CC&A) Product team will perform maintenance on the AHD and AOTW systems from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 ET.

During the maintenance period, AOTW, TSDR and TTABVUE products will be unavailable. Additionally, TTABVUE and TSDR services using AOTW will be unavailable. 

Patent Electronic Filing System – Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 6 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated.

Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.
