Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform database patching maintenance on several of the USPTO's financial systems beginning at 9 p.m., Saturday, June 10 and ending at 1 a.m., Monday, June 12 ET.

The Vendor Portal application will remain available to manage invoices. Users will be unable to submit invoices or eDeliverables during the downtime.

Fee Payment Processing Maintenance

Due to system maintenance on USPTO financial systems, we will be unable to accept fee payments beginning at 9 p.m., Saturday, June 10 and ending at 1 a.m., Monday, June 12 ET.

During the maintenance period, the following storefronts will be impacted:

    • Electronic Filing System (EFS-Web)

    • Patent Center

    • Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)

    • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)

    • Financial Manager System- See Impacted Services Below 

    • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (ESTTA)

    • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)

    • Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS)

    • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

The following online financial services will be unavailable: Patent Maintenance fee bulk payment submissions, Requests to create a new USPTO Deposit Account, and Requests to close a USPTO Deposit Account or requests to withdrawal funds from a USPTO Deposit Account.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

P-TACTS Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: PTAB E2E frequently asked questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods.

Patent Electronic Filing System – Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 11 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated.

Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time, but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.
