Planned Events

Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting multiple systems from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31 ET.

During this maintenance period, availability of Supplemental Content data for new applications and follow-ons filed will be delayed in the following systems:

  • Patent Center
  • Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private PAIR)

Please check Patent Center or Private PAIR after the maintenance period for confirmation of availability of the Supplemental Content Data. Systems Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting several systems beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, April 1 and ending at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 1 ET.  

The following systems and systems that interface with them will be unavailable during the maintenance period:

    • Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private PAIR)

    • Public Patent Application Information Retrieval (Public PAIR)

    • Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS)

    • Financial Manager and Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront

    • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)

    • Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG)

    • Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE (TTABVUE)

The maintenance will also cause interruptions to payment processing for users of the Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA), the Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS), the Order Entry Management System (OEMS), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End to End (PTAB-E2E).

P-TACTS Customers

If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending AIA case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Tracking System (P-TACTS), you may use an alternative filing method. Fee Processing Next Generation (FPNG) Credit Card Payment Maintenance

Due to third-party system maintenance activities, credit/debit card payments will not be accepted from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 ET.  

During the maintenance period, the following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept credit/debit card payments:

  • Electronic Filing System-Web Contingency (EFS-Web Contingency)
  • Patent Center
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)

  • Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS)

  • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during the maintenance window.

Patent Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 2 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated.

Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time, but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.

Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the TEAS and TEASi systems from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 ET.

To minimize the risk of disruption, we recommend closing any active sessions and stopping your work between 9 and 9:15 a.m. ET.
