Planned Events

​Fee Payment Processing Maintenance

Due to system maintenance on USPTO financial systems, we will be unable to accept fee payments from 12 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 ET. 

During the maintenance period, the following storefronts will be impacted:

  • Electronic Filing System (EFS-Web)
  • Patent Center
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)
  • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)
  • Financial Manager System
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)
  • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (ESTTA)
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)
  • Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS)
  • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

In addition, several online financial services will be unavailable, including Patent Maintenance fee bulk uploads and retrieval of Maintenance Fee statements, access to Financial Manager reports and transaction searches, and fee history lookups through Private PAIR.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

P-TACTS Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: PTAB E2E frequently asked questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods.

Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends.  If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov .

Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the TEAS and TEASi systems from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 ET.

To minimize the risk of disruption, we recommend closing any active sessions and stopping your work between 9 and 9:15 a.m. ET.

Vendor Portal Maintenance

The USPTO will perform database patching maintenance on several of the USPTO's financial systems from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 ET.

During the maintenance period, Vendor Portal will be available, but submissions will not be successful.
