Fee Processing Next Generation (FPNG) and Payment processing Maintenance

Due to system maintenance of the USPTO network, fee payment processing will experience an outage from 12:45 a.m. until 1:45 a.m. on Friday, January 27 ET. 

During the maintenance period, the following storefronts will be impacted:

     Electronic Filing System (EFS-Web)

     Patent Center

     Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)

     Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)

     Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

     Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)

     Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (ESTTA)

     Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)

     Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS)

       Certified Copy Center (CCC)

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

P-TACTS Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: PTAB E2E frequently asked questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods.

Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the TEAS and TEASi systems from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 28 ET.

During the maintenance period, TEAS and TEASi will be unavailable.

Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA) Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the ESTTA system from 12:01 a.m. until 3 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 ET.

ESTTA will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Electronic Patent Assignments System (EPAS) Maintenance

The USPTO Certified Copy and Assignments (CC&A) Product team will perform an upgrade on the EPAS system from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on January 28 ET.

During this maintenance period, the EPAS product will be unavailable.

Patent Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, January 29 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated.

Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.
