Planned Events

Docket Application Viewer (DAV) Migration

The USPTO will perform a migration on DAV from the Production Data Center in Alexandria to a new Data Center in Manassas in two parts:

    • Part 3A beginning at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 17 and ending at 3 p.m., Tuesday, January 17 ET

Note: DAV will be available during the migration window

    • Part 4 beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, January 20 and ending at 9 a.m., Saturday, January 21 ET.  

Note: DAV will be unavailable during the migration window. During the migration, OC users will not be able to post for credit, approve, return, or submit office actions.

Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on TSDR application on two consecutive nights:

    • The first night of maintenance will be from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 ET.

    • The final night of maintenance will be from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 22 ET.

During the maintenance period, TSDR will be available, but might experience some slow response time.

Reference Document Management Services (RDMS) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance impacting several manuals from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 ET.

During the maintenance period, the following manuals will be briefly unavailable between 12 a.m. and 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 ET.

Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (eMPEP)

    • Trademark Manual of Examining Procedure (TMEP)

    • Trademark Federal Statutes and Rules (TFSR)

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Manual of Procedure (TBMP)

PTONet Network Switch Code Upgrade 

The USPTO will perform a perimeter network switch code upgrade in the ITE data center from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 ET.

The following systems will be unavailable during the maintenance period:

    • Patent Center

    • EFS-Web for Registered eFilers, Unregistered eFilers, and EFS-Web Contingency

Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademarks Database Servers from 12:01 a.m. until 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 22 ET.

During the maintenance period, the following component services will not be available:

  • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
  • Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
  • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Inquiry System (TTABVUE)
  • Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR)


Multiple System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform system maintenance from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 ET.

During the maintenance period, the following component services will not be available:

  • ESTTA - Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals
  • TTABVUE- Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE
  • TTAB Reading-Room - Trademark Trial and Appeals Board - Reading Room
  • ODEIS - Office of Enrollment and Discipline Information System


Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform system maintenance from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 22 ET.

During the maintenance period, services will not be available for the following systems:

  • First Actions System for Trademarks (1.0) (2.0)
  • X-Search


Trademark Electronic Search System TM-TESS Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the TM-TESS from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 22 ET.

During the maintenance period, TM-TESS will be unavailable.

Patent Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, January 22 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated.

Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time, but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.
