Planned Events

Integrated Quality System (IQS) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the IQS systems from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 9 ET.

During the maintenance period, IQS will be unavailable.

Patent Office Action to XML (P-OA2XML) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on P-OA2XML systems from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 9 ET.

During the maintenance period, DOCX and XML downloads will not be available in Private PAIR and Patent Center.

Patent Examination Data Search (PEDS) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the PEDS system from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, November 10 ET.

During the maintenance period, users may experience temporary disruption of service.

Trademark System Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark Official Gazette and Trademark ID Manual from 12:01 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 12 ET. Both systems will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on SCORE which will affect multiple systems from 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Thursday, November 10 ET.

During this maintenance period, availability of Supplemental Content data for new applications and follow-ons filed will be delayed in the following systems:

    • Patent Center
    • Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private PAIR)

Please check Patent Center or Private-PAIR after the maintenance period for confirmation of availability of the Supplemental Content Data. If you have questions, please contact the Patent Electronic Business Center (EBC) at (866) 217-9197 during their operating hours of 6 a.m. to midnight, Monday - Friday ET, or email ebc@uspto.gov.

Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting multiple systems configured through Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM-IDaaS) from 12:01 a.m. until 3 a.m. on Thursday, November 10 ET.

During the maintenance, there is a possibility of intermittent interruption:

Patent Customers:

During the maintenance period, if you need to file a new patent application, you can use EFS-Web for Unregistered eFilers or EFS-Web Contingency. If you need to file a follow-on submission or pay fees, use an alternative filing or payment method.

PTAB Customers:

If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending AIA case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End System (PTAB-E2E), you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ Page and see A2 for information concerning your AIA petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods. If you have any questions, contact PTAB during normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET by telephone at 571-272-7822 or email at Trials@uspto.gov.

Trademark Customers:

If your deadline is today and the document requiring a fee payment cannot be filed electronically, you must use an alternate method of filling. Please visit the Trademark Outage Page for information concerning Trademark alternative filing methods. If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email TEAS@uspto.gov.

TTAB Customers:

If your deadline is today and the document cannot be filed electronically, you must use an alternative method of filing method. Please visit the TTAB Outage Page for information concerning Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) alternative filing methods. If you have any questions, contact the TTAB Assistance Center during normal business hours between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except federal holidays by telephone at 571-272-8500 or email TTABInfo@uspto.gov.

Electronic Library for Patents (P-ELP) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on P-ELP for two consecutive nights. The dates are as follows:

    • The beginning night of maintenance will begin at 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Friday, November 11 ET.
    • The final night of maintenance will begin at 12:01 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Saturday, November 12 ET.

P-ELP will be available during the maintenance period; however, some operations may be briefly interrupted or delayed.

Patent Center users should retry if an operation is interrupted or does not appear to have been completed.

Fee Processing Next Generation (FPNG) and Payment processing Maintenance

Due to system maintenance of the USPTO network, fee payment processing may experience an intermittent outage beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, November 11 and ending at 2 a.m., Saturday, November 12 ET. 

Note: Friday, November 11 is a federal holiday (Veterans Day).

During the maintenance period, the following storefronts will be impacted:
