Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting the TSDR system beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, September 9 and ending at 2 a.m., Saturday, September 10 ET.

During the maintenance period, TSDR will be unavailable.

Links to TSDR will not be available from the following systems:

    •    Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
    •    Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
    •    Trademarks Electronic Official Gazette (TMOG)
    •    Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Viewing on the Web (TTABVUE)
    •    Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)
    •    USPTO TM Status mobile app

Private Patent Application Information Retrieval (Private-PAIR) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on Private-PAIR beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, September 10 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, September 10 ET.

During the maintenance period, Private PAIR will be unavailable. Please use Patent Center as an alternative to electronically retrieve patent applications.

Fee Payment Processing Maintenance

Due to system maintenance on USPTO financial systems, we will be unable to accept fee payments beginning at 12 a.m., Saturday, September 10 and ending at 5 a.m., Saturday, September 10 ET. 

During the maintenance period, the following storefronts will be impacted:

  • Electronic Filing System (EFS-Web)
  • Patent Center
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB-E2E)
  • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)
  • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (ESTTA)
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)
  •  Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS)
  •  Certified Copy Center (CCC)

In addition, access to Financial Manager services will be unavailable as well as fee history query lookups.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Patent Customers: For more information about filing documents during an outage, please visit: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/apply/filing-online/filing-documents-during-outage. If you have questions, please contact the Patent Electronic Business Center (EBC) at 1-866-217-9197, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m., to midnight ET.

PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: PTAB E2E frequently asked questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods.

Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends. If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.

Patent Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web beginning at 8 p.m., Sunday, September 11 and ending at 10 p.m., Sunday, September 11 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated. Applicants may file submissions in EFS-Web during this time, but wait until Monday for those documents to be generated. Applicants may still file submissions via Patent Center.
