Planned Events

Global Dossier-Public Access to Foreign Applications Dossiers (P-GD-PAD) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the P-GD-PAD system beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, December 17 and ending at 5 a.m., Saturday, December 18 ET.

During the maintenance period, Global Dossier will be unavailable.

Trademark System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark Examination system on Friday, December 17 from 8 – 11:59 p.m.

Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG) may incur a brief outage or loss of functionality during the maintenance.

Multiple Systems Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on multiple systems beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, December 18 and ending at 12 p.m., Saturday, December 18 ET.

During the maintenance period, the following systems will be unavailable:
 
     •    Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
     •    Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE (TTABVUE)


Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi) Maintenance

TEAS and TEASi will be unavailable during system maintenance on Saturday, December 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. We're updating the online forms to comply with the Trademark Modernization Act (TMA) and incorporate enhancements based on stakeholder suggestions.

During the maintenance period, TEAS and TEASi will be unavailable.

Users should file all saved forms and e-signature forms by 7:59 a.m., Saturday, December 18 ET. If you don't file these forms by that time, you will have to start the process again with new forms.

Vendor Portal Maintenance

The USPTO will perform system maintenance affecting the Vendor Portal from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 18 ET.

During the maintenance period, Vendor Portal users will not be able to submit and process invoices and eDeliverables.

Fee Payment Processing Maintenance

The USPTO's Third-Party Credit Card Processing service, Pay.gov, will be performing maintenance that impacts USPTO credit/debit card fee payment processing beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, December 18 and ending at 10 p.m., Saturday, December 18 ET.

During the maintenance period, the following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept credit/debit card payments:

  • Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web)
  • Electronic Filing System-Web Contingency (EFS-Web Contingency)
  • Patent Center
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTABE2E)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)
  • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
  • Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS)
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)
  • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during this maintenance window.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Patent Customers: For more information about filing documents during an outage, please visit: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/apply/filing-online/filing-documents-during-outage. If you have questions, please contact the Patent Electronic Business Center (EBC) at 1-866-217-9197, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m., to midnight ET.

PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/ptab/ptab-e2e-frequently-asked-questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods. Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends.  If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.

Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting the TSDR system beginning at 10 p.m., Saturday, December 18 and ending at 2 a.m., Sunday, December 19 ET. 

During the maintenance period, TSDR will be unavailable.

Links to TSDR will not be available from the following systems:

    •    Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
    •    Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
    •    Trademarks Electronic Official Gazette (TMOG) 
    •    Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Viewing on the Web (TTABVUE)

Electronic Filing System (EFS) Web Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on EFS-Web beginning at 8 p.m., Sunday, December 19 and ending at 10 p.m., Sunday, December 19 ET.

During this maintenance period, Fee Worksheets and Acknowledgement Receipts for submissions will not be generated. There will be a delay before these documents will be available.

MyUSPTO Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the MyUSPTO application on two nights:

  • The first night of maintenance will begin at 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, December 21 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 21 ET.
  • The final night of maintenance will begin at 12:01 a.m., Thursday, December 23 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, December 23 ET.

During the maintenance period, MyUSPTO will be available, but might experience some slow response time.​
