Bulk Data Storage System (BDSS) Maintenance
The OCIO will perform maintenance on the Bulk Data Storage System (BDSS) beginning at 10 a.m., Friday, August 20 and ending at 3 p.m., Friday, August 20 ET.
During the maintenance period, the entire BDSS system will be unavailable.
Systems Maintenance
The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting several systems beginning at 12:01 a.m., Saturday, August 21 and ending at 8 a.m., Saturday, August 21 ET.
The following systems and systems that interface with them will be unavailable during the maintenance period:
• Electronic Filing System Web (EFS-Web & EFS-Web Contingency)
• Office of Enrollment and Discipline Roster of Patent Attorneys/Agents (OEDCI)
• Patent Center and Sponsorship tool
• Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End System (PTAB-E2E)

• Public Patent Application Information Retrieval (Public PAIR)
• Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS)

• Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
• Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG)
• Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)
• Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Information System (TTABIS)
• Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE (TTABVUE)
The maintenance will also cause interruptions to payment processing for users of the Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS), the Order Entry Management System (OEMS), the Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End to End (PTAB-E2E).
During the maintenance period, viewing documents in TTABVUE will be unavailable.

If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending AIA case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End System (PTAB-E2E), you may use an alternative filing method. The USPTO will perform system maintenance affecting the Vendor Portal beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, August 21 and ending at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 21 ET.
During the maintenance period, Vendor Portal users will not be able to submit and process invoices and eDeliverables.
Fee Payment Processing Maintenance
The USPTO's Third-Party Credit Card Processing service, Pay.gov, will be performing maintenance that impacts USPTO credit/debit card fee payment processing beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, August 21 and ending at 10 p.m., Saturday, August 21 ET.
The following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept Credit/Debit card payments during the maintenance period:
• Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web)
• Electronic Filing System-Web Contingency (EFS-Web Contingency)
• Patent Center
• Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTABE2E)
• Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

• Certified Copy Center (CCC)
Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during this maintenance window.
If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

The USPTO will be performing routine maintenance beginning at 12:01 a.m., Sunday, August 22 and ending at 9 a.m., Sunday, August 22 ET.
During the maintenance, there will be a complete outage for the following systems:

- Patent Application Location and Monitoring-Service Getaway (PALM-SG)

- Electronic Filing System- Web (EFS-WEB)

- Central Enterprise Data Repository Infrastructure (CEDR-INFRA)
- Patent Application Locating and Monitoring - Examination and Post-Examination (PALM-EXPO)
- Patent Center
- Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS)
- Patent Global Dossier Public Access Dossier (GD)
Users should save all work and log off before the maintenance period begins. Users should retry if an operation is interrupted or does not appear to have been completed.
TMNG System Maintenance
The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark Next Generation (TMNG) systems beginning at 10 p.m., Saturday, August 21 and ending at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, August 22 ET.
Trademark Next Generation ID Manual (TMNG-IDM) and Trademarks Electronic Official Gazette (TMOG) will not be available during the maintenance period.
Private-PAIR Maintenance
The USPTO will perform maintenance on Private-PAIR beginning at 12:01 a.m., Sunday, August 22 and ending at 5 a.m., Monday, August 22 ET.
During the maintenance period, Private-PAIR will be unavailable.
