USPTO Systems Status and Availability

Planned Events

Server Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform routine maintenance on the TTAB database servers from midnight-5 a.m. ET on Saturday, May 4.

The following systems will be unavailable during the maintenance period.:

    • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Inquiry System (TTABVUE)
    • Trademark Trial and Appeals-Reading Room (TTAB-RR)

Multiple Systems Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform network maintenance that will impact access to most public-facing systems from midnight-5 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 2.

Affected systems will be unavailable during this period and include:

  • Patent Center
  • Patent Examination Data System (PEDS)
  • Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR)
  • Patent Public Search Database (PPUBS)
  • MyUSPTO
  • Global Dossier
  • Assignment Center
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Patent Practitioner Home Page
  • Fees Self-Service Portal
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
  • Trademark Search
  • Patent Assignment Search
  • Trademark Assignment Search
  • Patent Center eOffice Action notifications will begin by 10 a.m. ET  

The USPTO website should remain available.

Credit Card Payment Maintenance

Due to third-party system maintenance activities, credit/debit card payments will not be accepted from 6-10 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 4.  

During the maintenance period, the following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept credit/debit card payments:

     Patent Center

     Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)

     Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)

     Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

     Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)

     Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)

     Assignment Center (IPAS)

     Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)

     Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during the maintenance window.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance activity has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System, (P-TACTS) you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: P-TACTS FAQs (uspto.gov) and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using P-TACTS alternative filing methods.
