Planned Events

Trademark System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark System from midnight-5:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 9. 

During the maintenance period, the following systems will remain available, but mark images and documents will be unavailable:

  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
  • Trademark Electronic Official Gazette (TM-eOG)
  • Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR)

During the maintenance period, the following systems will be unavailable:

  • Trademark Electronic Filing (TM-eFile)
  • Trademark Trial and Appeals - Reading Room (TTAB-RR)

Patent Center Maintenance 

The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting Patent Center from 12:01 a.m.-5 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 9.  

Patent Center will be unavailable during the maintenance period. Please refer to our Filing Documents during an Outage page for other alternative filing method.

System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform routine maintenance affecting fee payment processing beginning at midnight-3 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 9. 

Fee payment processing will be unavailable across the USPTO Storefronts to include:

    • Patent Center

    • Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)

    • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (ESTTA)

    • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)

    • Assignment Center (IPAS)

    • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Between 8:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. ET, several online financial services will be impacted to include a delay in timeliness of Financial Manager report transaction details and transaction searches, and fee history lookups through Patent Center.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System, (P-TACTS) you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/ptab/ptab-e2e-frequently-asked-questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using P-TACTS alternative filing methods. Assignments on the Web (AOTW), Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Inquiry System (TTABVUE) and Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) 

The USPTO Certified Copy and Assignments (CC&A) Product team will perform database connection migration update from TRAM to TRM database in production on PTAS and AHD databases beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 9 and ending at 4 p.m., Sunday, March 10 ET. 

During the maintenance period, the following system products will be unavailable: 

    • Assignments on the Web (AOTW) 

    • Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) 

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Inquiry System (TTABVUE)


Vendor Portal Maintenance

The USPTO will perform database patching maintenance on several of the USPTO's financial systems from midnight-3 a.m. ET on Friday, March 9.

The Vendor Portal application will remain available to manage invoices. Users will be unable to submit invoices or eDeliverables during the downtime.
