How to File a Patent Application Using EFS-Web plus Updates on Authentication Changes

The first half of the session will focus on filing your patent application using the Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web) and managing your patent application online using Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) system. The presentation will consist of an interactive tutorial, description of various assistance resources such as the Inventor’s Assistance Center (IAC), and the Patent Electronics Business Center (EBC).

The second half of the session covers authentication changes for EFS-Web and Private PAIR users that include a new, safer, and simpler log-in.  Learn about these changes at this virtual informational session hosted by the USPTO’s eCommerce Modernization team.  Experts will share information about the new USPTO.gov account for authenticating into EFS-Web and Private PAIR.  Information presented at the session will include how to successfully migrate your account using an existing PKI certificate and how to use the sponsorship tool. The team will also give a brief overview of structured text features and updates to the new Patent Center.
