Office of Patent Application Processing

The Office of Patent Application Processing (OPAP) performs initial processing for all new US and PCT applications to ensure that applications are in condition for examination, Pre-Grant Publication, or ready for transmission to the International Bureau.  OPAP processes all Power of Attorney requests, rule 1.48 petitions to correct inventorship, and requests to retrieve foreign priority documents using Priority Document Exchange (PDX) or the Digital Access Service (DAS).
