The Office of the Chief Technology Officer oversees the enterprise IT architecture; evaluates emerging technologies and applies these emerging technologies to USPTO’s changing business needs and strategic direction. The office creates and executes technical plans to ensure that OCIO follows a consistent framework using best-fit technologies, continuously identifying and moving OCIO towards its target architecture. Additionally, the office manages the federal enterprise architecture activities, enterprise data architecture, and application architecture for the agency, and in that role serves as the documenting and governing body for all architectural activities accomplished throughout the OCIO.
