If so, register for part two of the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) virtual Instructor-Led Training (vILT) three-part series demonstrating how an entry level patent examiner is trained to apply 35 U.S.C. § 103 when making obviousness determinations.

This course is based on recent training delivered to patent examiners. Experts will review different rationales identified in the Supreme Court decision KSR v. Teleflex and provide examples of how to construct clear and complete 35 U.S.C. § 103 rejections.

Participants will learn

  • How to establish a prima facie case
  • Rationale for combining prior art
  • Communicating a rejection

There is no prerequisite for this course. Capacity is limited and attendance is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
