To whom it may concern,
What I think should happen ASAP is, for individuals/businesses who ELECT to file a trademark application via mail(paper), the fee should stay the same.
For individuals/businesses who ELECT to file a trademark application via electronically, the fee should definitely decrease by half for a limited time, with the ultimate and final costs reverting back to about 1/3 less the costs now, as an incentive for everyone to start filing electronically. As long as dropping the costs of filing electronically can be justified by USPTO operations costs being lowered! So let's make it happen! Please let me know if you need details on how to make it work?!
