PTAB Moot Court Competition interest form

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) requests that only law school administrators or professors submit this form to indicate your school's interest in participating in the inaugural PTAB Moot Court Competition. The competition will provide law school students a unique opportunity to develop written and oral advocacy skills in the context of an America Invents Act trial proceeding. This submission will allow the competition organizers to identify interested law schools and points-of-contact for additional communications about the competition.

In its first year of operation (fall 2024-spring 2025), the PTAB Moot Court Competition will have limited capacity for participating law schools. Competition organizers have the goal of including a wide spectrum of law schools in the competition. Organizers will review submitted interest forms and invite schools to participate in the competition based upon considerations, which include:

  • The school's size
  • Geographic location
  • Academic course offerings
  • Student demographics
  • Prior participation in intellectual property-focused competitions

*items are mandatory

If you would like to provide information relating to your affiliated school’s interest in this competition that you would like competition organizers to know (e.g., patent or PTAB-specific academic course offerings, student demographics, or prior participation in intellectual property-focused competitions), please send an email containing that information to PTABMootCourt@uspto.gov.
