USPTO launches TTAB Pro Bono Clearinghouse Program

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) today launched a Pro Bono Clearinghouse Program for the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). The goal of the program is to facilitate free legal assistance to certain individuals and small businesses involved in proceedings before the TTAB.

Under the new program, organizations recognized by the USPTO will match experienced trademark practitioners with potential clients that otherwise may not have affordable access to legal assistance.

The first recognized program is operated by the International Trademark Association. Applications from other organizations interested in participating in the program will be accepted on a rolling basis. Participating organizations must maintain their qualifications for USPTO recognition and listing on the USPTO website.

Details about the program, qualifications, and how to apply are available online. For additional information, please contact TTABFeedback@uspto.gov.
