The Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has released the 2020 update to its Trademark Case Files Dataset. This dataset contains detailed information on 10.8 million trademark applications filed with, or registrations issued by, the USPTO between January 1870 and February 2021. The OCE derives this information from the USPTO’s main database for administering trademarks. It includes data on mark characteristics, prosecution events, ownership, classification, third-party oppositions, and renewal history.
