WASHINGTON – Yesterday the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) kicked off the 21st annual Invention-Con, USPTO’s premier event for innovation and intellectual property training.

“We’re very excited about this year’s lineup,” said Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO. “We’ve assembled some of America’s top experts on innovation and intellectual property. Our goal is to expand understanding in patents, trademarks, and other forms of IP so that entrepreneurs and inventors are empowered to invent, own their creations, and bring their products to market.”

The three-day event has gone virtual this year, but has maintained the high quality of speakers and sessions meant to benefit inventors and small business owners throughout the nation. With over 3,400 pre-registrations, the event is also on track to be the largest in its 21-year history.

"Inventing and patenting are often forerunners of future economic activity, and if this year’s Invention-Con interest is any indication, we’re headed for a very strong economic growth period leading into next year and beyond," continued Under Secretary Iancu.

The event continues through Saturday afternoon. For more information on registration and the agenda, visit www.uspto.gov.
