Join us for the Washington, D.C., metro area patent examiner recruitment open house on Friday, February 28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on Saturday, February 29, from 8:15 a.m. to noon at United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

After attending an info session, you can meet directly with recruiters to learn more about the unique technical qualifications we are looking for in engineers to hire as patent examiners. Our recruiters will be ready with answers to all your questions. For all attendees coming to our hiring event in USPTO's Global IP Academy (GIPA) on Friday, Feb 28th please note the following arrival tips and plan your trip accordingly:

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled Information Session (for registrants) OR your preferred Information Session (for walk-ins) in order to complete a simple security screening once you enter the Madison building.
  • The Madison Building is identifiable by its soaring central glass atrium joining the east and west sides of the building.
  • Please bring a valid Driver’s License or Passport for proper identification.


Multiple information sessions are scheduled starting at 9am on Friday and at 8:15am on Saturday.  Be sure to stick around after the info sessions to speak one-on-one with USPTO Patents recruiters!
