New ways of working at the USPTO

Join us to learn about the large-scale information technology (IT) transformation that has occurred at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) over the past few years. The USPTO has shifted from traditional project management to product management with the adoption of new processes, organizational cultural changes, and a focus on achieving iterative results for customers. The USPTO now has four product lines for managing over 30 different products; these product lines are: Enterprise Business, Enterprise Infrastructure, Patents, and Trademarks.

Register here to learn how this newer alignment encourages cross-product planning, budget alignment, interdependency analysis, and risk mitigation. In harmony with Agile and DevSecOps practices, the USPTO's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) has also adopted New Ways of Working (NWOW) to increase collaboration, value delivered to the business, and deployment frequencies, empower teams, reduce non-value-added work, and foster continuous improvements through increased feedback.

The speakers and Q&A roundtable participants at this USPTO small business event will help attendees learn about:

  • The USPTO’s four product lines
  • New Ways of Working
  • High-level procurement plans and strategies
