About the USPTO's National Trademark Expo

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is proud to announce that the next National Trademark Expo will take place on the National Mall in 2014. The specific days of the 2014 event will be posted when determined. The Expo will be held at the “Innovation Pavilion” of the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building after renovations of this historic building are completed and it reopens to the public. The USPTO is collaborating with the Smithsonian Institution on the creation of the 18,000-square-foot Pavilion.
The Trademark Expo is designed to educate the public about trademarks and their importance in the global marketplace. At the Expo, exhibitors showcase their federally-registered trademarks through educational exhibits, including booths, themed displays, costumed characters, and inflatables. In addition, the Expo features educational seminars and children’s workshops and activities.
The Expo has grown considerably over the past five years. In 2012, more than 17,000 people attended the Expo and the number of exhibitors increased to thirty-five—both of which were new records!
As with past Expos that were held at the USPTO’s Alexandria, VA, campus, the 2014 Expo in D.C. will be free and open to the public. No registration is required to attend.
