Inventors Assistance Center (IAC)
For information on application continuation in the Manual of Patent Examination Procedure (MPEP), patent infringement, assignment of patents to examiners, petitions to make Special, status of patent applications filed longer than two months, Power of Attorney forms, Office Action questions, Notice of Amendment, express abandonment, change of address, drawings, and patent claims/priority documents. The IAC is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET (except Federal holidays).

Patent Electronic Business Center (EBC) Customer Service Center
For information on requesting customer number, PKI (digital certification), Electronic Filing System (EFS) software, Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR), USPTO web site patent software downloads, and confirmation of faxed documents. The EBC can be contacted via telephone or email from 6 a.m. to midnight, ET, Monday through Friday. Closed on all Federal Holidays.
Trademark Assistance Center (TAC)
The Trademark Assistance Center (TAC) provides general information about the trademark registration process and responds to inquiries about the status of trademark applications and registrations. The location of the Trademark Assistance Center is Madison East, Concourse Level, 600 Dulany Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Telephone assistance is available Monday through Friday (except federal holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. Walk-in assistance is available Monday through Friday (except federal holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET

America Invents Act (AIA) Contact Center
For questions regarding the America Invents Act, including the new legal provisions and rules in effect as of September 16, 2012: inventor’s oath or declaration, supplemental examination, preissuance submission, citation of patent owner claim scope statement, post grant review, inter partes review, and transitional program for covered business methods. Application Assistance Unit (AAU)
Formerly the Office of Initial Patent Examination (OIPE) and the Office of Patent Publications (OPP). To check on the status of Power of Attorney, change of address, provisional application status, and express abandonment. Also, for help with filing receipt questions, change/withdrawal of attorney, notice of abandonment for patent, notice of missing parts letter, lost grants or soft copies, certification of correction, filing a patent to the file repository, listing a patent for sale in official gazette, processing of Certificates of Corrections, or to speak to an AAU representative. Assignments Recordation Branch (ARB)
For help with following a new assignment or obtaining information on a pending assignment, questions on assignments, liens on patents, filing assignments, recordation forms, and trademark assignments. Assistance is available Monday through Friday (except federal holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Patent and Trademark Copy Fulfillment Branch
Copies of official U.S. Patent and U.S. Trademark documents are available for sale from the Patent and Trademark Copy Fulfillment Branch. Request for copies must include payment and identification of the patent number(s) or trademark registration number(s) being requested. Telephone, fax, email, mail and walk-in services are provided Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Helpdesk
For questions and information concerning the Patent Co-operation Treaty. The PCT is an international agreement among patent offices and intergovernmental authorities regarding the process of international patent applications.
