Our next software partnership meeting for the public will take place July 22, 2014 at our headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. It's an opportunity to bring stakeholders together to share ideas, experiences and insights and to provide a forum for an informal discussion on topics specific to the software community.

16th Annual Independent Inventors Conference

The USPTO will host its 16th Annual Independent Inventors Conference in Alexandria, Virginia August 15-16. Independent inventors and small business owners will have an opportunity to learn, network, and jump start their endeavors. Experts and senior officials from the USPTO will present information on patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property matters.

Volunteer as Guest Lecturer in the Patent Examiner Technical Training Program

In accordance with a White House Executive Action to strengthen our patent system and foster innovation, the USPTO is expanding its Patent Examiner Technical Training Program (PETTP). The USPTO is requesting voluntary assistance from scientists, engineers, professors, and industrial designers to participate as guest lecturers.

Sign Up for the STEM Teacher Institute

The USPTO will host its first National Summer Teacher Institute on Innovation, STEM, and Intellectual Property August 10-14 in Santa Clara, California. Applications are still being accepted until July 28 for participants who live within a 50 mile radius of Santa Clara.
