Will my digital certficate ever expire?
Your digital certificate has a lifetime of approximately 25 months from the date of creation or recovery which is proceeded by an automatic update as long as the certificate is used at least once every 6 months. The check, request and update action starts occuring approximately 100 days before the certificate expires. In addition, if you maintain multiple copies of your certificate, the certificate that is used at the time of your digital certificate renewal will be updated by our server and all other copies will be rendered inactive. If the digital certificate expires due to inactivity, the certificate will need to be recovered either by using ‘self-recovery’ codes or by contacting the EBC for recovery assistance.
