(188) Continuation of Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program between the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office On April 27, 2013, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) simplified the requirements and procedures for PPH program participation with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). See Revised Requirements for the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Program to Implement PPH 2.0 with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, 1391 Off. Gaz. Pat. Office 219 (June 25, 2013). This simplified program, PPH 2.0 with the DPMA, was due to terminate on April 26, 2015. In order to further assess the feasibility of this PPH 2.0 pilot program, the USPTO and the DPMA have agreed to extend the pilot for an additional two years, ending on April 26, 2017.
