Plant Follow on Application

    • You can initiate a follow on for your Plant application using the “Existing submissions” menu or activity card. Please continue to use the fee transmittal PTO/SB/17 for any fees that you would like to calculate and pay.

    • NOTE: DO NOT USE the Plant Non-Provisional option in the “New submissions” menu or activity card. Please continue follow the COVID-19 Plant application filing procedure for filing Plant applications. 

Monitor Issues after Dell Docking Station Firmware Update

Users experiencing monitor resolution changes due to the Dell Docking Station WD19 WD22 Firmware Deployment, can find instructions on how to fix their display resolution in the linked Tech Tip. Trilateral Dossier Access (TDA) Updates

The USPTO will perform routine updates on TDA from midnight-5 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 16.

During the maintenance period, TDA will not be available.

Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA) Maintenance

The USPTO is performing routine maintenance on ESTTA from 4-5:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 16.

ESTTA will not be available during the maintenance period.

Trilateral Dossier Access (TDA) Update

The USPTO will perform a security update on TDA web servers from midnight-5 a.m. ET on Friday, May 17. 

During the update, TDA will not be available.

Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA) Maintenance

The USPTO is performing routine maintenance on ESTTA from 4-5:30 a.m. ET on Friday, May 17.

ESTTA will not be available during the maintenance period.

Credit Card Payment Maintenance

Due to third-party system maintenance activities, credit/debit card payments will not be accepted from 6-10 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 18.  

During the maintenance period, the following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept credit/debit card payments:

    • Patent Center

    • Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)

    • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)

    • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)

    • Assignment Center (IPAS)

    • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)

    • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during the maintenance window.

If you are unable to wait until the maintenance activity has concluded to pay a fee, the following alternative options are available:

Support for the online fee payment management system, and USPTO.gov accounts, is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET (except federal holidays).

PTAB Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System, (P-TACTS) you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: P-TACTS FAQs (uspto.gov) and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using P-TACTS alternative filing methods. The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting several systems from midnight-9 a.m. ET on Saturday, May 25.  

The following systems and systems that interface with these systems will be unavailable during the maintenance period:

    • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Roster of Patent Attorneys/Agents (OEDCI)

    • Patent Center and Sponsorship tool

    • Patent Trial and Appeal Tracking System (P-TACTS)

    • Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS)

    • Financial Manager and Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront

    • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)

    • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)

    • Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG)

    • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board VUE (TTABVUE)

The maintenance will also cause interruptions to payment processing for users of the Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA), the Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS), the Order Entry Management System (OEMS), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End to End (PTAB-E2E).
