(136)    Announcement of Final Rule to Set or Adjust Patent Fees

SUMMARY: The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO or office)
sets or adjusts patent fees as authorized by the Leahy-Smith America
Invents Act (Act or AIA) in a final rule entitled, "Setting and Adjusting
Patent Fees during Fiscal Year 2020," submitted to the Federal Register for
publication on July 27, 2020. The office first proposed a revised fee
structure in a notice of proposed rulemaking published at 84 FR 37398
(July 31, 2019).

   The rulemaking and supplementary materials in support of the rulemaking
are available on the USPTO's web site at https://www.uspto.gov/about-us/
performance-and-planning/fee-setting-and-adjusting

EFFECTIVE DATE: This final rule is effective 60 days after publication in
the Federal Register, except for the amendment to § 1.16(u), which is
effective on January 1, 2022.
