(226)  Continuation of the Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Program
        between the United States Patent and Trademark Office and
               the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property

   On July 1, 2015, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
simplified the requirements and procedures for Patent Prosecution Highway
(PPH) pilot program participation with the Mexican Institute of Industrial
Property (IMPI). See Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program between
the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Mexican Institute of
Industrial Property, 1416 Off. Gaz. Pat. Office 200 (July 21, 2015). This
simplified PPH pilot program was scheduled to end on June 30, 2020. See
Continuation of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program between
the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Mexican Institute of
Industrial Property, 1453 Off. Gaz. Pat. Office 59 (August 7, 2018). The
USPTO and the IMPI remain committed to the PPH pilot program, and,
accordingly, have agreed to extend the program until June 30, 2022. Under
this program, the USPTO will treat as timely any PPH request, based on IMPI
work, filed with the USPTO on or before June 30, 2022.
