(184)        Continuation of Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH)
            Pilot Program between the United States Patent and
       Trademark Office and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office

   On April 27, 2013, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
simplified the requirements and procedures for PPH program participation
with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). See Revised
Requirements for the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Program to Implement
PPH 2.0 with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, 1391 Off. Gaz. Pat.
Office 219 (June 25, 2013). This simplified program, PPH 2.0 with the DPMA,
was due to terminate on April 26, 2015.

   In order to further assess the feasibility of this PPH 2.0 pilot
program, the USPTO and the DPMA have agreed to extend the pilot for an
additional two years, ending on April 26, 2017.
