(191) Continuation of Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) 2.0 Pilot Program

On January 29, 2012, the United States Patent and Trademark Office
(USPTO) simplified the requirements and procedures for Patent Prosecution
Highway (PPH) program participation with respect to eight other offices
(i.e., IP Australia (IPAU), Canada (CIPO), the European Patent Office
(EPO), Finland (NBPR), Japan (JPO), Russia (ROSPATENT), Spain (SPTO) and
United Kingdom (UKIPO)). This simplified program, PPH 2.0, was due to
terminate on January 28, 2013.

In order to adequately assess the feasibility of the PPH 2.0 program,
the USPTO will continue to collect more information before any final
decision on the program is made. Accordingly, the pilot has been extended
indefinitely.
